Shelby was assigned to be a random roommate with Alyssa, Jheryl, and I our sophomore year at Birmingham-Southern. She is the best friend I never knew I needed and the first person I call when I need advice. Shelby is genuine and intentional in her actions which makes her a really incredible friend. Shelby is currently a science teacher in Memphis and coaches volleyball and softball. I was her Maid of Honor for her wedding in December of 2023 and now she is mine!

Alyssa was my very first friend at Birmingham-Southern College freshman year and naturally we lived together once she moved on campus. She is truly one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet and has the ability to talk to anyone. Alyssa is always down for an impromptu lunch date, a dedicated member of her church, and is known to humble strangers at pickleball. She played tennis at BSC and currently works as a speech pathologist in Birmingham!

Ella Day was my teammate on the softball team at Birmingham-Southern College. We were both biology majors and you would regularly find us studying together in the science building or on the bus to away games. Our dads became travel partners for away games and since graduation her parents have absorbed me into their family. I have spent several Thanksgivings and Christmases at the Day household which occasionally lead to a trip to the local karaoke bar!

Grace and I met in vet school at Auburn, and we sat next to each other everyday for three years before we started our final clinical year! One of my favorite memories with Grace is the two week clincial rotation we took together in Gulf Shores. She is the life of the party and soon to be a mixed animal veterinarian in Waverly TN! From lake weekends, horse races, and trips to Nashville and the family farm we always have a great time together!

Haley and I lived together at BSC my senior year with Jheryl. She currently works as a math teacher at Liberty Park Middle School and just launched her own clothing boutique!. One of my favorite memories of Haley is the time we took a beach trip and bought a hermit crab. After we came back from the trip, the hermit crab escaped and over a year later the next tenant our our dorm found the crab walking across the living room!

Hallie is the sister-in-law people dream about. She is going to be in the center of any dance floor and always down for a good concert. She is the best dressed in any room and is one of the most dedicated people you’ll ever meet. You would be hard pressed to find a bigger Auburn fan, and frankly I’d rather sit next to Hallie than Hanan at a football game.

Hannah is one of the trio of girl cousins on my mom’s side along with Shelby Haney. The three of us were born within a year of each other, and growing up we all spent summers together at Nana’s house. Despite having two guest rooms the three of us would cram into one bed longways so we could stay together the entire time. Hannah married her husband Jacob in October of 2023 and Shelby and I were right there by her side!

Jheryl and I lived together for two years at Birmingham-Southern. She and I met during sorority rush our freshman year and we opened our Bid Day cards together! We both ran to AOII and she became one of my closest friends in our pledge class. Jheryl is the person who takes care of everyone around her before herself and she has a special talent for gifting “happies”. One of my favorite memories of living with Jheryl is when we adopted a feral campus cat. We named her Pepper, and within a few months Pepper would curl up on the couch in our apartment.

Michelle and I are cousins on the Perley side of the family. We are a year apart and lived 5 minutes from each other growing up! I was a bridesmaid in her wedding in 2021 to Harrison and they just welcomed baby Eleanor this year! My favorite memory with Michelle (and Harrison) was when we took a scuba diving trip to Grand Cayman. Her dad introduced my dad into scuba diving and now it has become more or less a family tradition! After such a great trip, and seeing how much fun it was for Michelle and Harrison to continue diving together as a couple, I gifted Hanan scuba lessons so that in the future we could enjoy scuba diving together just as they have!

Savannah and I became friends while playing on the high school softball team. You would frequently find us at Moe’s Southwest after practice for the Moe Monday’s half price burritos. After high school, Sav went to Auburn and I stayed in Birmingham for college. After college we swapped cities for professional school. Sav went to Samford for PA school and I went to Auburn for vet school. During this time Sav married her husband Turner and I was one of her bridesmaids! Fortunately for both of us, Sav got a job as a PA near Auburn and I was able to have her in the same city for my last few months of vet school! A fun fact about Sav is that she owns a Golden Retriever that is almost identical to Roy and we often confuse one for the other when they are playing.

Shelby is the youngest of the trio of girl cousins on my mom’s side with Hannah Hyde. She married her husband Graham in May of 2021 with Hannah and I as bridesmaids. She had a beautiful wedding at the house where Sweet Home Alabama was filmed in Eufaula, Alabama, which was actually the first time Hanan meet the entire extended family. One of my favorite memories with Shelby is when we went to Port Saint Joe for her bachelorette trip. It rained most of the trip but we found the best little karoke bar and had an absolute blast!

Addison is the oldest of my two younger sisters, and often described as “the sister that looks like you”. She is a freshman at Alabama (War Eagle anyways) and plans on becoming a speech pathologist. Addison has a huge heart and once she sets her mind to something there is nothing that will stop her. For example, last year she Facetimed me after rescuing a feral kitten from a Target parking lot. She was determined to keep the kitten and wanted to ensure the kitten was as healthy as possible before pitching her case to Mom about adopting her. (We did adopt her, her name is Lena, and she no longer has fleas).

Emma Parker is the younger sister of the two, and while we don’t look as similar, we are a lot alike. Emma Parker is the peace maker of the family, and we both love to cook and try new foods. She is very academically driven and likely the most self-sufficient member of the family. A fun fact about Emma Parker is that she wakes up before everyone and makes nutella pancakes every single morning.

Anthony and I met at Birmingham Southern. He was my catcher for 3 years and we made a lot of memories together. AJ currently lives in Atlanta but is from Memphis!

Dr. Alexander James Hans and I met at Birmingham Southern, he is from Tuscaloosa but currently lives in Fairhope, AL with is lovely wife and newborn baby girl. Hans as we all call him was a pitcher on our baseball team at BSC. He is currently a doctor down in Fairhope.

Braden (Brado) White is one of my oldest friends. We have known each other almost all of lives. Braden played football at FHS and went on to be the 12th Man at Texas A&M in College Station, TX. Braden currently resides in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Bryant and I go back to 5th grade at AWANA at Woodmont Baptist Church. Since then, we have been best friends. All of the baseball tournaments and vacations we went on together. Bryant currently resides in Florence, AL with is lovely wife.

Collin Taylor and I have known each other all of our lives. Collin was my catcher in high school and he went on to be a pitcher in college! Collin, Bryant and Braden are my core 3 friends from growing up. Collin also golfs quite a lot!

John Paul Dobbs and I got to know each other real well by playing baseball together in high school. John Paul made the fantastic decision to follow me to Birmingham Southern. There, we were also teammates and it was a pretty cool thing to have 2 FHS guys playing college ball together. John Paul currently resides in Huntsville, AL where he and his lovely wife just moved.

Paul Williamson and I were part of the 2016 freshman class at Birmingham Southern. Paul was a part of my core friend group at BSC and we ended up rooming together for 2 years. Paul is currently in Dental School at UAB!

Vincent Torres, born and raised a Yankee fan in the Bronx, NY. I've never met anyone like Vinny, the most passionate Yankee fan I know! Vinny and I played baseball at BSC together and we are fellow left handed pitchers! Vinny currently resides in the Bronx with is lovely wife and new born baby girl!

Will Buser is from Memphis! Buser, as we call him, and I were freshman year roommates at Birmingham Southern. It worked out well that year so we just decided to room together all four years! Did I mention he is from Memphis? Buser currently resides in Tampa Bay, FL with his lovely wife.

Macke Mauldin is what he goes by to almost everyone but for me he is my Dad. Words don't do justice about the role he has played in my life. He is the guy I turn to for the tough situations that life throws at you and he is the biggest role model in my life. It is an honor for him to serve as my best man.

Jessica’s younger brother, coming in at a wopping 6 foot 2 inches tall. While he is a junior groomsman, he is taller than most of the groomsman.
